7. Fees and Payment Terms

By booking our computer help services, you agree to our payment terms:

  • Immediate Payment: Payment is due immediately upon completion of the support session.
  • Travel and Parking Expenses: Our standard service fees include travel up to a 15-mile radius from our business address. For journeys exceeding 15 miles from our business address, a flat travel fee of 55 pence per mile will be charged for each additional mile and added to your final bill. You also agree to reimburse us in full for any parking fees, congestion charges, or low emission zone fees incurred while traveling to and attending your home or office.
  • Accepted Methods: We accept payment via Cash, Sumup with debit/credit card, or immediate bank transfer. We do not accept cheques.
  • No Credit: We do not offer credit accounts or delayed invoicing. All services must be settled before we leave your home or office or end the remote session.
  • Non-Payment: If payment is not made immediately following the session, we reserve the right to withhold further support, decline future bookings, and take necessary legal action to recover the outstanding balance.



8. Service Liability (Handling Your Computer)

Whilst we take every possible precaution to look after your equipment and data, you agree to the following terms when hiring us for computer help:

  • Data Backup Responsibility: It is your sole responsibility to back up all data, software, and files stored on your device(s) before we provide any support (whether on-site or via remote access). We cannot be held responsible for any data loss, corruption, or recovery costs. TechAssit can offer backup advice.
  • Pre-existing Conditions: We are not liable for any technical faults, hardware failures, or software corruption that existed before our session, or that occur during our session due to pre-existing component wear and tear.
  • Software Licensing: You must ensure that all software installed on your computer is legally licensed. We accept no liability for licensing issues arising from software you ask us to configure or troubleshoot.
  • Limit of Liability: Our total liability to you for any direct damage or loss caused by our negligence or performance of services shall be limited to a maximum of £1,000,000 which is fully backed by our public liability insurance.
  • Statutory Rights: Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK consumer law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015).



9. Governing Law 

Your use of this website, any booking you make, and any dispute arising out of such use of the website or our services is subject to the laws of Scotland.
